LL: I read the reading assignment just an hour before class began. The students knew I was winging it, but they were very understanding.

LL: I said put it on the back burner.

LL: I said that she walk smack-dab into the fruit display. Smack-dab means exactly or right. That means she walked right into the fruit display.

哎哟，那位太太把那水果摊撞翻了。真是的，你看，地上到处都是桔子。她是怎么回事呀？你说她什么来着？ |

LL: I sure do. Before I left, my uncle came by and gave me a new camera to take with me to Yosemite. I was blown away by his generosity.

你叔叔那么好呀！知道你要出去玩还特地送你一个新的照相机呀！他这么慷慨，人人都会感到惊异，而且还会让人羡慕你呐。 |

LL: I think the gray double-breasted suit is better looking than any of the others, hands down. And it makes me look pretty sophisticated.

LL: I was thinking of things we could do with these apples. My aunt has a cabinet in the kitchen chock full of recipe books.

LL: I'm glad you remember that. My first trip to the Great Wall WAS truly a letdown. It was so crowded with tourists and souvenir peddlers.

你怎么到哪儿都嫌人多啊？长城是有名的旅游景点，当然有各地的游客啦，还有小商贩卖纪念品！哎，不过，你刚才说，你第一次去长城让你失望，那后来你再去是不是就感觉好多了？ |

LL: I'm not very good at sticking to a budget. I always like to have some wiggle room in my budget for extra expenses.

我知道，规定自己一个月花多少钱是很难遵守的，总有要额外买些东西的时候。所以我总给自己留一些余地，免得到时候没有没办法。 |

LL: I'm so tired that I don't think it will be a problem. I could probably sack out now and not wake up until tomorrow morning.

那当然啦，半夜两点才睡觉，早上肯定不想起床。如果你现在回家睡觉，那你今晚还睡得着吗？ |
