Judah has gone into exile, away from affliction And away from great servitude; She dwells among the nations But finds no rest; All her pursuers have overtaken her In the midst of distress.

Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.

3犹大因遭遇苦难，又因多服劳苦就迁到外邦。她住在列国中，寻不着安息。追逼她的都在狭窄之地将她追上。 |
|
Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

2犹大悲哀，城门衰败。众人披上黑衣坐在地上。耶路撒冷的哀声上达。 |

Judah recognized them, and said, She is more righteous than I, inasmuch as I did not give her to my son Shelah.And he did not have relations with her again.

Judah said to his brothers, What profit is it for us to kill our brother and cover up his blood?

Judah then said to his daughter-in-law Tamar, Live as a widow in your father's house until my son Shelah grows up.For he thought, He may die too, just like his brothers.So Tamar went to live in her father's house.

11犹大心里说、恐怕示拉也死、像他两个哥哥一样、就对他儿妇他玛说、你去、在你父亲家里守寡、等我儿子示拉长大．他玛就回去住在他父亲家里。 |

Judah will be inhabited forever and Jerusalem through all generations.

20但犹大必存到永远．耶路撒冷必存到万代。 |
|
Judah's leaders are like those who move boundary stones. I will pour out my wrath on them like a flood of water.

10犹大的首领如同挪移地界的人，我必将忿怒倒在他们身上，如水一般。 |
|
Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
