[NIV] I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.

[NIV] I will bring the most wicked of the nations to take possession of their houses; I will put an end to the pride of the mighty, and their sanctuaries will be desecrated.

[NIV] I will clothe him with your robe and fasten your sash around him and hand your authority over to him.

[NIV] I will devastate this city and make it an object of scorn; all who pass by will be appalled and will scoff because of all its wounds.

[NIV] I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.

[NIV] I will drive him like a peg into a firm place; he will be a seat of honor for the house of his father.
